Mother’s Day

Settlement ISC Fun Facts

On the second Sunday of May every year, Canadians celebrate Mother’s Day. Mother’s Day is a day to show appreciation for mothers or mother figures. Mother figures can include grandmothers, mothers-in-law, foster mothers, or other people who have a motherly role. Because Mother’s Day is on a Sunday, many people do not have work, which gives them time to do something nice for the mothers and mother figures in their lives. Giving flowers, cards, chocolates, and other gifts are also popular ways to show appreciation.
