Alberta Health Services published a new document that help parents choose healthy snacks for children 4 years and older.

The key messages of this documents:

  1. “Choose snacks such fresh vegetables and fruit, milk and plain yogurt, whole grains, and unprocessed meats and alternatives most often.”
  2. “Some packaged foods are healthier options that can be chosen sometimes.”
  3. “High sugar and high fat processed foods are not healthy snack choices for children.”
