Alberta Health Services published a new document that help parents choose healthy snacks for children 4 years and older.
The key messages of this documents:
- “Choose snacks such fresh vegetables and fruit, milk and plain yogurt, whole grains, and unprocessed meats and alternatives most often.”
- “Some packaged foods are healthier options that can be chosen sometimes.”
- “High sugar and high fat processed foods are not healthy snack choices for children.”
