Emotional counseling

Settlement ISC Community

Immigrant Services Calgary, in partnership with the Distress Centre, is offering free professional counseling services to newcomers.

Counseling is not only for people who are “mentally ill” or “sick”. Moving to a new country can be a challenging and stressful experience.  You may have left behind your family, your friends, your career, your language, and your comfort in your home country. You may feel frustrated, disappointed, sad, overwhelmed, or angry – these are all normal emotions. If you wish to talk to someone about how to better manage these emotions and your stress, this is a great opportunity to do so.

One-hour appointment on the 1st or 3rd Thursday of a month. Appointments between 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

This is a free service.
