Winter Clothes

Settlement ISC Community

Winter is almost here in Calgary. For many newcomers, this may be their first experience of snow and freezing temperatures. Temperatures during the winter can reach as low as -30°C (-22°F)! Proper winter clothing will be needed to keep warm, however, not every Calgarian can afford to protect themselves and their families from the cold. The following are some resources that Calgarians who cannot afford winter clothing can contact to get the help they need. If you would like to help keep fellow Calgarians warm, you can also contact these resources to donate winter clothing:

Project Warmth Society of Alberta

Jacket Racket Calgary (Distributed through the Calgary Board of Education and the Calgary Catholic School District)

The Drop-in & Rehab Centre

The Mustard Seed

Southeast Calgary Community Resource Centre – The Clothing Room

Women in Need Society (WINS) – Free Goods Referral Program

Salvation Army
