Grade 5 & 6 students welcome Syrian refugee families

Settlement ISC Community

On March 29, Immigrant Services Calgary’s SNAP program delivered a presentation to 60 Grade 5 and 6 students at Chief Justice Milvain School. The presentation included two guest speakers who shared their stories coming to Canada from Dubai and Afghanistan. The class presented us with a children’s book and hand crafted letters to new Syrian refugee families. In these letters, they share encouraging words of advice and messages of hope.
