Alberta Identification Card

Settlement ISC Community

Do you know that Alberta residents who do not or cannot hold a valid Alberta operator’s licence (driver’s licence) can apply for the Alberta identification card? This photo identification card can be only used for identification purposes and does not entitle the person to drive a car under any circumstances.

Applicants can apply at any of the registry agent offices. Applicants must be at least 12 years old, and for applicants under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian to provide consent.
