From May 28 to June 3 is the National AccessAbility Week. It is a week dedicated to highlighting and promoting inclusion and accessibility inclusion and accessibility in communities and workplaces across Canada. According to Deaf and Hear Alberta, about a quarter of the population has some degree of hearing loss, and the Canadian National Institute for Blind estimates half a million Canadians are living with significant vision loss.
In Calgary, you can contact 311 and request a sign language interpreter, captioning or materials in accessible formats for the City of Calgary’s meetings and events.
