The Heritage Day was established in 1974 by the Government of Alberta to recognize and celebrate the variety and richness of cultural heritage of Albertans. In this year, the Heritage Day will be on Monday, August 7, 2017. The Heritage Day is an additional general holiday. However, an employer may designate it as general holiday if it wishes.
