June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day, formerly known as National Aboriginal Day. It is a day for Canadians to celebrate indigenous peoples’ culture, heritage, and contributions. The date was chosen because it corresponds to the summer solstice, the longest day of the year. You can find a list of National Indigenous People day event at the Government of Canada’s website.
