Environment Canada issued a heat warning for Calgary and southern Alberta. It says maximum daytime highs are forecast to exceed 29C until at least Friday, August 10, 2018.

Here are the suggestions from Environment Canada:
- Consider rescheduling outdoor activities to cooler hours of the day.
- Take frequent breaks from the heat, spending time indoors at cooled buildings (including malls or indoor pools).
- Drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty and stay in a cool place.
- Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
