Emergency Alert Testing Across Canada on November 28

Settlement ISC Community, Updates

On November 28, millions of mobile phones, televisions and radios will sound and vibrate across Canada to test a second round of the national public emergency alert system. It sounds similar to an ambulance alarm. This public awareness test will be distributed on TV, radio and wireless devices. For an example of the Alert Attention Signal, you can click here.

The emergency alerts are issued by federal, provincial, and territorial governments to warns the public of imminent threats to life, for example, fire, floods, natural disasters, as well as amber alerts.
