Red Deer College becoming a University

Settlement ISC Community, Updates

Red Deer College’s request to become a university has received approval from the Government of Alberta. This name change transition will take several years to ensure that the institution is fully prepared, the degrees offered are meaningful, and the credentials offered to students are universally recognized.

With Red Deer developing to be a bigger city, improved access to undergraduate degrees will help build a more diverse workforce and develop a stronger regional economy. Red Deer College currently offers 75 programs including certificates, diplomas, apprenticeship training and university transfer programming in areas such as business, arts, sciences, health services, etc.
