Albertans are reminded to drive safe and sober during the Canada Day long weekend (June 29 – July 1). The Government of Alberta is joining traffic safety advocates and emergency response organizations to recognize Impaired Driving Awareness Month during July. Driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol puts many people at risk. It can also be a reason to lose Permanent Resident Status in Canada. Plan ahead this long weekend and make smart choices. If you consume drugs or alcohol, do not drive and make alternative travel plans.
