Canada will be starting a new 3-year economic immigration pilot that will fill labour shortages, specifically in meat processing and mushroom production, within the agri-food sector. This industry has been experiencing ongoing difficulty in finding and keeping new employees. The pilot aims to attract and retain workers by providing them an opportunity to become a permanent resident.
Details on how individuals can apply for permanent residence through this pilot will be available early 2020.
