A good way to protect yourself is to never release any additional private information than necessary. Things such as your SIN (Social Insurance Number) should be protected and never released online. Email phishing scams have also been frequent and look legitimate. Some common email scams will threaten you with action if you don’t respond or notify that there is a problem with your current account.
