The City of Calgary has recently issued an update on garbage collection. Weekly green cart collection will resume starting the week of May 19. The start of weekly service is delayed because of recruiting challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Starting the week of May 19, the schedule will remain the same and the weekly service will be on the same day your green cart is picked up these days. Until then, every other week green cart pickup will continue.

Did you know that you could sign up for free reminders in case you forget to put out your bins on collections? Click this link calgary.ca/collection to sign up today!

In case your green cart is filled, you can use paper yard waste bags instead or take yard waste directly to a City landfill until May 30. It’s free of charge unless you bring other types of garbage. Click here to check landfill hours and locations in Calgary.
