Paramedic Services Week is May 24 to 30. This week celebrates and appreciates the front line workers of Canada’s healthcare system. More than 40,000 paramedics and communications officers stand ready to help Canadians in need. “Day in and day out, they answer our calls for help and put themselves in harm’s way to save lives. And this year, we’re particularly grateful for their sacrifice and their service in the face of COVID-19.”
Each day has a specific public education focus that is designed to educate citizens on paramedics during a pandemic health emergency and Saturday is an opportunity for the public to get to know their local paramedics and emergency medical responders through recognition initiatives.
Here are the topics for each day this week:
Monday – Activating 911 and Call Screening
Tuesday – Personal Protective Equipment (PPE); What and Why?
Wednesday – Protect the Protectors/Help the Helpers
Thursday – Stay Informed; What and Why We Do What We Do?
Friday – Health and Resiliency
Saturday – Paramedic Services Recognition Day
Thank you to all paramedics and all front line workers for their work everyday!
