We all have a role to play in anti-racism and your voice is important!
The City of Calgary is holding a public consultation on systemic racism starting on July 7.
If you are interested in sharing your experience, please send an email to email@example.com. In the email, please specify:
- Your name.
- That you’d like to speak at the “Anti-Racism Public Consultation”.
If you are not yet comfortable with your English, you can speak through an interpreter. An interpreter speaks your first language as well as English and can help you translate your words orally.
To ask for an interpreter, please email the above information to firstname.lastname@example.org by 3 p.m. on July 3. In the email, please specify the language you need.
You will receive a reply telling you that your name has been added to the list to speak at a specific time at the Standing Policy Committee on Community and Protective Services.
You can also choose to provide your input in writing instead of speaking at the meeting. To do so, please complete this Public Submission form online.
Word of the Day:
Systemic: relating to a system, not just a particular part. When we say “systemic racism”, we are referring to the policies and practices in a society that exclude or discriminate against certain races.
