Register for Canada’s National Do Not Call List

Michelle Mak Daily Life, Newcomer Information

Have you been getting a lot of spam calls? Did you know the Government of Canada has a National Do Not Call List (DNCL) that you can register for?

The National Do Not Call List gives Canadians a choice about whether to receive telemarketing calls. You can choose to reduce the number of telemarketing calls you receive by registering your personal telephone number, including landline, wireless, fax or VoIP on the National DNCL. Once you register your number, it stays on the National DNCL permanently, and there is no need to re-register. Registration is also free!

Telemarketers have 31 days from the date you register to stop contacting you.
