Alberta Health Service (AHS)’s Influenza Immunization program for 2020-2021 is now open.
Starting on October 19, AHS will offer influenza immunization (also called “flu shots”) through pre-booked appointments only to children under five years of age and their family and household members.
Learn more here: Flu Shots for Children under 5.
If you do not have children under 5, you need to contact your community pharmacist or physician to find out if they offer influenza immunization. Alberta Health Service (AHS) has a few screening questions to guide you through the process: https://myhealth.alberta.ca/Journey/Immunization/Pages/ImmunizationTool.aspx#q1
There are many community pharmacists and physicians providing immunization services to adults and children 5 years of age and older. Please call ahead to a pharmacy or physician office to find out if they offer influenza immunization in the 2020-2021 season.
