Today, December 3, is International Day of People with Disabilities. This is the annual celebration of people with disabilities. This year’s theme is ‘Not all Disabilities are Visible’, it’s focus is to spread awareness and understanding that not all disabilities are apparent (such as mental illnesses, chronic pain, diabetes, etc)
On this day, we are reminded that we have responsibility to better understand disability issues. The day also advocates to promote the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities in our communities.
