City of Calgary Face Coverings Bylaw remains in effect until December 2021

The Calgary City Council has extended the Temporary COVID-19 Face Coverings Bylaw (26M2020) until December 2021 and also increased the penalties/fines for those who don’t comply.

The City of Calgary has announced the Temporary COVID-19 Face Coverings Bylaw (26M2020) that requires face coverings in all public indoor spaces and public vehicles. This bylaw has now been extended until next year December 2021.

Those who do not comply and do not wear a face covering when required to do so will face a penalty. The new changes in penalties are from $50 to $100 and following offences within a 12-month period will result in higher penalties. There is also a penalty for failure to display prescribed signage of the face coverings which will remain at $200, but increases for repeat offences within the same year.
