Alberta Holiday Exemption for Indoor Social Gatherings

On December 22, 2020, the Government of Alberta announced a ‘Holiday Exemption’ for individuals who live alone. Those who live alone may gather with one household for 1 event between December 23 – December 28.

This means that a household can host ONE event only include up to 2 people who live alone along with their children who are minors.

When you are gathering, especially with seniors over 65 years old or with people who at higher risk, ensure that you are still maintaining social distancing/safety protocols.

  • Maintain 2 meters of distance
  • Use hand sanitizer
  • Wear a mask when unable to maintain 2 meters of distance
