New Scholarship Program: Leaders in Equality Award of Distinction

The Alberta government has announced a new scholarship program called Leaders in Equality Award of Distinction (LEAD) Program

Students who are working to reduce gender discrimination or studying in fields where their gender is traditionally under-represented can now apply for the LEAD program. Each successful student will receive $2,500.

The scholarship program has two streams:
  • Women in STEM award – open to women under 30 pursuing studies in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Up to 50 awards are available.
  • The Persons Case Scholarship – open to anyone pursuing studies to advance gender equality. Up to 40 awards are available.
Application deadline: February 21, 2021
