Health Canada has recently approved AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine for use.
After thorough, independent reviews of the evidence, Health Canada has determined that the vaccine meets Canada’s stringent safety, efficacy and quality requirements.
The first shipment of half a million doses of these vaccines will arrive within weeks. The vaccines are authorized for use in people over 18 years of age. They are administered as a two-dose regimen and can be kept at refrigerated temperatures (from 2˚ to 8˚C) for at least six months.
