As of May 20, 2021:
- More than 2.3 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to Albertans.
- More than 51% of Albertans ages 12+ are now protected by at least 1 dose.
Change in quarantine days for those who received COVID-19 vaccine:
The 14-day quarantine is no longer required for people vaccinated with 2 doses if they are identified as exposed to a positive case, as long as they have no symptoms. With symptoms, they must still isolate & should get tested.
For close contacts of a confirmed case who have been vaccinated with 1 dose, the quarantine period is being reduced from 14 to 10 days if they have no symptoms. If they have a COVID-19 test on day 7 or later of the quarantine period and test negative, quarantine can end.
The change above does NOT apply to people returning to Alberta from international travel.
