City Summer Outdoor Programs for Kids & Adults

The City of Calgary has two new outdoor summer programs for children and adults. These are great opportunities for newcomer families to make new friends and build network.

Wetland Wonders

Kid aged 5-12 will learn about all the wonders of wetlands by exploring these natural spaces and the wildlife that call them home. Discover why wetlands are important and get an up-close view of the amazing critters that live below the surface during a pond dip.

  • Dates: July 7 – August 28, Wednesdays & Fridays
  • Times: 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM & 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM
  • Cost: Free but registration is required.
  • Special note: Participating kid must be accompanied by an adult.
Art in the Park

Join an artist from North Mount Pleasant Arts Centre in one of Calgary’s beautiful parks where participating adults will be guided through a nature-themed art activity to promote connection to our local greenspaces.

  • Dates: July 7 – August 25, Wednesdays
  • Times: 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
  • Cost: Free but registration is required.
  • Special note: Art materials will be provided. Please bring a chair or something to sit on.
