The Honourable Marco E. L. Mendicino, Minister of , Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship (IRCC) announced that the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants will officially open on November 23, 2021.
The creation of the College is a key part of the government’s efforts to fight fraud in our immigration system. The College will become the official regulator of immigration and citizenship consultants across the country, which will help
- improve oversight
- regulate the profession by protecting the public and consultants in good standing
- crack down on those who take advantage of vulnerable people
The College will regulate immigration and citizenship consultants under a statutory framework put in place by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants Act.
