Be a Snow Angel for Your Neighbors!

Lisa C. Community, Newcomer Information, Settlement & Community News, Updates

Winter has descended upon us once again. Please be reminded that Section 67 of the Street Bylaw has specified requirements for snow and ice removal.

Learn more about the Snow & Ice Removal Bylaw and failing in complying with the bylaw will results in fees and fines.

The City of Calgary encourages Calgarians to volunteer as a Snow Angel and help others remove snow and ice from their sidewalk, especially if you have a neighbor who is

  • an older adult,
  • a person with limited mobility, or
  • anybody that could use some help

Now Snow Angels can be recognized in the following ways:

  • Downloading and printing the Snow Angel certificate to give to your Snow Angel
  • Calling 311 to request a certificate for your Snow Angel
  • Sharing your Snow Angel story on social media using #YYCSnowAngels

If you notice a sidewalk that is not cleared within 24 hours of a snowfall ending, please note down address details and report it to the City.

Word of the Day:

Descend: to begin to occur
