Alberta became a province on September 1, 1905. In recognition of this anniversary and in celebration of our province’s unique spirit, culture and heritage, we have designated September 1 as Alberta Day.
Alberta Day is a celebration of everything Alberta, from the past to the present. If you can’t get out to an event, celebrate your own way!
- Visit a provincial historic site or museum to learn about Alberta’s history
- Go to a provincial park to get outdoors and appreciate Alberta’s beautiful landscapes
- Attend Alberta Culture Days or Alberta Month of the Artist events running until the end of September
- Host a block party for your friends, family and neighbours
