Calgary Police Services launch Operation Cold Start Initiative

Calgary Police Services (CPS) have launched the third annual Operation Cold Start in hopes of tackling early morning car thefts happening throughout Calgary. On February 4, 2019, 7 vehicles were stolen because they were left unlocked with the keys inside of them. This initiative encourages everyone to never leave a vehicle running and unattended during cold winter mornings when warming up their vehicles. With temperatures dropping the last few days, CPS encourages everyone to stay with your running vehicle or install a remote starter.

Alberta Health Services Warns of Text Scams Using Its Name

Alberta Health Services is warning Albertans about a new text scam. Some Albertans have been receiving text messages that links to what looks like an e-transfer site. Once you open the link, the site asks you to input your bank information. Alberta Health Services would like to clarify that it would never send text messages, and would never request for money through e-transfer. If you receive such a text message, do not open the link.

2017 Syrian Refugee Holiday Fun Event

On Saturday, December 16, Immigrant Services Calgary (ISC) was host to 96 Syrian Refugees (including 59 children) for a Family Holiday Fun Event. We had an excellent 93.5% turnout engaging in info-sessions, fun games, and food.
