Calgary Police Services (CPS) have launched the third annual Operation Cold Start in hopes of tackling early morning car thefts happening throughout Calgary. On February 4, 2019, 7 vehicles were stolen because they were left unlocked with the keys inside of them. This initiative encourages everyone to never leave a vehicle running and unattended during cold winter mornings when warming up their vehicles. With temperatures dropping the last few days, CPS encourages everyone to stay with your running vehicle or install a remote starter.
