Job Description – Cook (NOC 6322) (1 vacant position)

Title of position: Cook (NOC 6322)

Job duties

  • Work with minimal supervision within a team in a busy restaurant
  • Prepare and cook full course meals
  • Prepare and cook individual dishes and foods
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
  • Prepare and cook (using East Indian spices as required in the recipe) East Indian dishes from the menu as per customer order
  • Inspect kitchen and food service areas
  • Maintain inventory and record of food, supplies and equipment
  • Work with specialized cooking equipment (ex. Deep fryer, Tandoor (clay oven))
  • Clean and properly maintain kitchen and work areas
  • Organize and manage buffets and banquets

Terms of employment:

  • Permanent position
  • Work 40 hours per week (Weekends, Evenings, Days, Nights)
  • Anticipated start date: As soon as possible

  • Work experience: 3 to 5 years of experience required

  • Food Preparation Specialization: Stocks, soup and sauces, Eggs and dairy, vegetables, fruits, nuts and mushrooms; meat; poultry; Fish; Seafood.

  • Wage: $16.00 to $21.00 per hour
